Welcome!
Studio A Homepage

Under the direction of Aggie Eidson, Studio A offers classes in Jazz, Tap, Ballet and Hip Hop for students ages 3 through adult. We are dedicated to providing the highest quality instruction to every student who participates in our program. Studio A views dance as an art and an opportunity to grow creatively, to achieve dreams, and to reach goals. Providing classes for the recreational as well as the pre-professional dancer, the studio creates an environment that fosters the confidence and self-esteem of each of the students. As a result of this positive reinforcement, our dancers develop into strong, expressive young artists.

We celebrate the accomplishments of our students at an annual studio showcase, and are home to the Studio A Dance Company, a group of dedicated dancers who perform locally and compete on a regional and national level.

Thank you for your interest in Studio A, directed by Aggie Eidson. On this website, you will find a schedule of classes, a registration form, a statement of studio policies, and a Spring 2009 Newsletter. Our summer session is a six-week program. Classes begin on Monday, July 6th and run through Saturday, August 15th.

Aggie has been teaching dance in the Bay Area for the past twenty-four years, and specializes in training the young, aspiring dancer. Aggie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education / Dance from California State University at Hayward and a valid California State Teaching Credential. She firmly believes in fostering the confidence and self-esteem of each of her students, and as a result of her positive reinforcement, has seen her dancers develop into strong, expressive young artists.

Combination classes offered for children ages three through six combine a creative blend of exercises, games, and activities designed to develop the student's motor skills and introduce them to the basics of jazz, tap and ballet. Tap and jazz classes offered for dancers age five and up consist of warm-up exercises, progressions (across-the-floor work), and center-floor routines in a fun and supportive environment. The ballet division offers classes for students ages 5 and up and focuses on developing proper placement and technique through the use of barre and center-floor exercises. Turn technique classes focus on the competitive student's technical development, with an emphasis on proper placement and correct execution of basic and advanced moves. Rehearsal classes focus on learning dances for competitive performance opportunities and are available to all age groups on an audition basis.

We are also offering a variety of single-day themed summer camps for children ages 4-6, and a week-long day camp for dancers ages 5 - 11. Pre-registration is required for all camps. See attached flyer for more information.
